May 2017 DWMC

Thank you to all who attended the Butler Climate March this weekend! It was wonderful to see such an outpouring of support for sensible environmental policies around the country and close to home.

We are only 100 Days into the Trump Administration. Our work defending Mercer County communities against the Republican Party's destructive agenda is far from over. This week take action to protect healthcare for all Americans. Call Rep. Kelly at (202) 225-5406 and tell him to oppose the proposed repeals of the ACA, and especially the MacArthur Amendment. Over 50% of Pennsylvanians have a pre-existing condition that would either disqualify them from coverage or force them to pay exorbitant premiums if the MacArthur Amendment becomes law.  For more ways to get involved, sign up for emails or text alerts from the PA Health Access Network at www.insurepa.org

On Friday, May 5th we'll be at Cravings, 4-6 pm, as usual, working to get out the vote for the May 16thprimary election. Find out more about endorsed, statewide judicial candidates: http://www.padems.com/candidates/

Mark your calendars for May events!

The DWMC is proud to host Justice Cynthia Baldwin, former PA Supreme Court Justice, andJudge Carolyn Nichols, candidate for Superior Court at our Saturday, May 13th meeting (10 am at Cravings). Click here for more info and to RSVP.

On Thursday, May 18th at 6 pm at Cravings, we've invited Hear Yourself Think to host a training session for us: "Making Reason the Loudest Voice in the Room: Communication Training for a Propaganda Era." Join us to learn how to restore dialogue to our communities. Click here for more info and to RSVP.

Keep up all the good work, particularly calls to state and federal officials and letters to the editor. We are making a difference!

With gratitude,

Judy
